The health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, employees and volunteers remain SereneCare’s number one priority. We are committed to following best practice and Government guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission within the community.

SereneCare is actively monitoring COVID-19 developments and will continue to implement measures to ensure the health and safety of our valuable customers and employees. Our COVIDSafe Plan is available on request and will be reviewed and updated routinely and when restrictions or public health advice changes.

For the latest information on COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria, please visit www.vic.gov.au

SereneCare continues to provide care and support to our customers during this time. We have implemented the following measures to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19:

  • Only customer’s and live-in carers are to be present during service delivery.
  • Visitors are not to attend customer homes during service delivery times.
  • Live-in carers (unless directly assisting service delivery) must be in another room whilst a SereneCare employee is present.
  • All employees will wear face masks within customer homes.
  • SereneCare employees will regularly wash their hands and use hand sanitiser as required during service delivery.
  • Employees will be supplied with and carry with them a bottle of hand sanitiser at all times.
  • Where appropriate, SereneCare Consulting and Counselling Services will occur via phone or Skype/Zoom meetings.
  • If a face to face Consulting or Counselling service is required, only the customer and live-in carer or one family member will be present and a distance of 1.5 metres maintained.
  • All SereneCare employees will participate in COVID-19 training and receive regular updates and information from management.
  • Where possible, the same care worker will be rostered to each customer to minimise exposure, with records of attendance at customer’s homes maintained through our rostering system.
  • Office-based employees will be required to work from home.
  • All employees will be supported to remain at home if they are unwell and must be tested if they have COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Appropriate authorities will be contacted (as per Government guidelines) in the event of a positive test, with close contacts (employees and customers) notified and supported to be tested, self-isolate and monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

Protecting yourself against COVID-19:

Good hygiene and taking care when interacting with other people are the best defences for you and your family against COVID-19.  This includes:

  • Covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue.
  • Disposing of used tissues immediately into a rubbish bin and washing your hands.
  • Washing your hands often with soap and water, including before and after eating and after going to the toilet, and when you have been out to shops or other places.
  • Using alcohol-based hand sanitisers (60% alcohol), where available.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently used surfaces and objects regularly.
  • Stay at home and avoid physical contact with others, except when you need assistance or care.
  • Avoid non-essential travel.
  • Consider having the Chemist deliver your medicines.
  • Consider having your groceries and essential items delivered to your home.
  • Stay 1.5 metres away — 2 arms’ length — from other people, when you can.
